Tekno SCT410SL 1/10 Super Lite Electric Short Course Truck

The Tekno RC SCT410SL Lightweight 1/10 Electric 4WD Short Course Truck Kit is a competitive, lightweight version of the proven Tekno SCT410. The chassis of this truck is made from CNC Machined 4mm Aluminum and given a black anodized finish. Light weight short course bumpers, nerf bars and body mounts finish off this ultra-light build.
The 4WD chassis features 3.5mm HD hinge pins, aluminum hinge pin braces, 13mm big bore shocks, updated spring options, a one-piece motor mount with preset gearing options, and much more. These features come together to give you a truck designed for outright performance.

This review is based on my first track day where I put 3 solid packs through it. This is my first Tekno kit I’ve owned and I love it. Im used to the TEN platform because I’ve owned all 3 of them, started from the original then put the MIP plate on it, got the 2.0 and then the 3.0 so I got very comfortable with that platform.
Pros
I’ll say I only got this kit after the losi was discontinued and I was not disappointed. The build went together very well. The manual was fantastic and easy to follow along and the parts went together nicely. Very solid option for people new into building kits.
The performance of the truck is also very good out of the box. Kit setup is decent but once I made a couple small tweaks I (camber and toe) it was pretty much dialed. It is lighter than I thought and you can definitely feel it. I found it easier to whip it around compared to the TEN which I found to be a little more dull. It’s also very durable, definitely had a couple hits with it and it did just fine.
Maintenance is very nice as well, the ease of access to the diffs are fantastic l, you only have to take out a few screws to get to the diff unlike the TEN where you had to take a bunch of stuff off to get to them.
Cons
My only con is the motor mount. I wish it was the slider like a lot of other vehicles. It just takes a lot more effort to change a pinion than it should. The traditional slider (or split) mount would take a minute at most to change a pinion but this takes at least a few
I also have a concern with how long the front driveshaft is and if it’s prone to wobbling after enough use. After 3 packs I started to notice it wobble a little bit and I’m not sure if thats a concern and if it had anything to do with the few crashes I had with it or if I installed something wrong which I followed the manual super closely. 7 customers found this review helpful. Heckler Verified Owner Monday, Sep 18 2023 (about 2 years ago) Tekno RC SCT410SL Lightweight 1/10 Electric 4WD Short Course Truck Kit Kit build was simple and easy, many videos online walking you through every bag provided and there was no need to trim, ream, or sand any of the parts. I bought the CF towers and top-plates, which I think you don’t *need* but the aluminum stock caps are a definite need. They should really just be included in the kit to be honest.
The only issue I had is I didn’t seal the center diff well enough and after 2 packs it started to leak. It’s simple to access the diffs and change out oils (or in my case, re-seal them).
Another thing I wish I was aware of is that stock “bumpers” are really small. Most shells will be over them at least an inch leading the shell to take the brunt of most hits. After shredding my 1st shell, I purchased ProStars 240SL bumpers (front and rear) to help my shells survive more than a couple packs.
Otherwise, the thing rips, is super light and I’m running it on an outdoor track, which its not “meant for” but to be honest, I’d rather have a car that is to light vs too heavy. Honestly im a beginner but this car is plenty durable enough to not fall apart after 4 races. It handles like a 4wd buggy but is durable like an SCT. Three of my last large orders have been either sat for over a week in one location before moving or like my last purchase I paid for next day delivery, only to have to delivery person say that I wasn’t home.. please part ways with FedEx.
