High-Performance Ford Rally Sport On-Road Kit
This RC kit replicates the rally-inspired 2003 Ford Focus RS Custom on the user-friendly TT-02 chassis. In 2003, Ford Motor Co. Team’s chief engineer, Christian Loriaux, implemented modifications to the Focus, including changes to the seat position, roll cage, suspension, and enhanced aerodynamics with an updated bumper shape, hood intake position, and a large rear wing. Powered by a 2-liter inline-4 turbo engine delivering 296HP and 369lb-ft of torque, this rally car achieved four second-place finishes in the Manufacturer ranking over its 7-year race campaign. The kit faithfully recreates a customized street version devoid of sponsor logos.

Kyle Lane Thursday, Mar 6 2025 (7 months ago) Tamiya 2003 Ford Focus RS Custom 1/10 4WD Electric Rally Car Kit The TT-02 range is the best kit car hands down for first timers. Those who have been in the Hobby longer will want to look at higher optioned TT-02 for sure. It’s a very fun kit to put together and the result is awesome. I was very skeptical at all plastic driveline at first but after owning multiple TT-02s with over powered brushless systems I have yet to break any driveline component. I actually don’t recall ever breaking anything on any of my TT-02s… I could write a book of praise for this chassis. So why not 5 stars? Well plastic bushings and useless shocks keep these lower end TT-02s from a perfect score. Having the diffs ride on bronze bushings and plastic bushings in the hubs in the modern world of RC is just wrong. The shocks are plain friction dampers with springs that are WAY too stiff. The bushings can be upgraded with 3rd party bearings pretty cheap so fine that’s not too bad. But to get any kind of usable shocks you need to order the Tamyia CVA Oil shocks. Now you have oil shocks that do nothing due to the springs still being too stiff. So you also have to order new springs as well. Now you have plastic oil shocks and have added $40 to the price. Plus $20 for bearings and you should of just bought the higher end versions of TT-02. This is still a great version of the TT-02 if you want a specific body, But I would recommend the bearings, oil shocks, and springs if you don’t want a bouncy ride and wobbling wheels after a few runs. 1 customer found this review helpful.
