ProTek RC 4 Cell LiPo Battery 15.2V High-Voltage Performance
The ProTek R/C 4S Shorty 130C Low IR 6400mAh Silicon Graphene+ HV Battery is a great option for 1/8 scale racers looking for a high capacity, high output and incredibly COMPACT 4S battery. Weighing approximately 440 grams, the 4S Shorty is almost 13 grams lighter than the PTK-5118-22 5600mAh 4S pack with more capacity! This offers more capacity output, in a compact shorty length that is perfect for weight conscious racers.
ProTek R/C Silicon Graphene batteries are the next step in the evolution of LiPo battery technology. Silicone Graphene construction offers improved efficiency, lower operating temperatures, lower internal resistance, better run time, increased cycle life and increased voltage! While these batteries are technically LiHV cells, they can still be charged with a standard LiPo charger. The overall voltage and capacity will be slightly less than if charged to LiHV specs, but the performance will be better than a standard LiPo thanks to the reduced weight and low internal resistance.
When compared to standard LiPo and LiHV, Silicon Graphene cells deliver an array of benefits! Lab testing has shown that ProTek R/C Silicon Graphene packs have double the cycle life when charged at 1C rates, and can be charged at higher amp rates, with less risk of damage to the pack. More importantly, the discharge curve is flatter, meaning the cells maintain higher voltage throughout the discharge cycle – with no significant drop off. Additionally, when compared to conventional LiPo batteries Silicon Graphene batteries are lighter, providing a higher capacity per gram ratio. However, the ones I have gotten in the last year have all puffed the case open after a couple months of use. I ran the batteries in a Tekno ET48 2.2.
Poor quality or bad luck one out of two isn’t great 🙁

This is most expensive battery I own some I put some extra pvc heat shrink around the case to keep from cracking. Arrives with cells at 3.78v and resistance is in the 2-4 range per cell. Seems like it holds close to 6400mah and I easily get 15-20mins of run time. For the price I wish build quality was a little heavier duty but overall so far with limited charges and runs it’s been a good LiHv battery. If I ever make it to a legit course this will be what I’m running. Excellent run time and performance but the case is lacking.
My first one puffed and broke the case the second run.
One cell now has high resistance and the pack is basically junk.
My other packs I clear package taped the cases tightly before use and they have been okay.
The other guys at the track with this batery have the same issue. (they told me about the tape trick)
I paid a premium price to invest in some high-quality packs that will last me a long time.
What I got was some time-bombs I no longer trust.

This is my first Protek battery. The power is a clean smooth discharge. You can tell by the way the motor responds. I also needed a long run time, and it did not disappoint. I use this in a custom Ryft build. Also, since it is a stubby pack, I am able to slide it in the tray to adjust how much weight I want over the front axels. Building your own leads is another plus giving it a clean look.
