About the RTR Promoto-MX
Suspension and Brakes
The mechanical technology is equally impressive. Losi’s product development team studied full-size motorcycle suspension geometry to give the Promoto-MX the same terrain handling characteristics. A rising rate rear suspension provides superior grip and prevents bottoming out in landings. The front fork design, with an internal spring and dampener, can be tuned by changing the silicone dampening fluid and also allows ride height adjustments. An innovative front and rear wheel braking system gives the bike impressive stopping power, cutting the stopping distance in half compared to rear brake only.
Electronics
The Spektrum DX3PM transmitter and SR6300PM receiver combine with patent-pending MS6X technology for unprecedented control. Promoto-MX drivers can maintain balance at high or low speeds and over jumps and whoops, then give simple steering inputs to carve around tight berms and straighten up heading into the next rhythm section. For more aggressive driving, use the MS6X knob to increase the lean angle.
Braaped Up!
Both technologies, electronic and mechanical, are why the Promoto-MX performs better at high and low speeds than any previous R/C motorcycle. For dirt bike fans, the “feel” of the Promoto-MX will be instantly familiar. R/C car enthusiasts will discover a new way to drive that pulls you deep into the heart of the action, carving berms, throwing fat whips, skimming whoops, casing jumps, holding wheelies, and throwing roost.

Bill Conroy Verified Owner Thursday, May 30 2024 (about a year ago) Losi Promoto-MX RTR 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike (FXR) The overall look and performance are amazing. The reason I gave only 3 stars is because even with a brand new battery the run time is only about 12-15 minutes. 1 customer found this review helpful. Jason Turner Verified Owner Thursday, May 9 2024 (about a year ago) Losi Promoto-MX RTR 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike (FXR) This is absolutely the most awesome RC vehicle I have ever owned. I am 47 years old having a blast like a kid. I grew up with radio shack RC trucks and cars. This thing is awesome ripping threw my lawn at full speed. Making some jumps soon and maybe buy another one soon. 1 customer found this review helpful. Christopher Kavanagh Verified Owner Friday, Apr 18 2025 (5 months ago) Losi Promoto-MX RTR 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike (FXR) This is the funnest rc to run and jump!! Handles just like the real thing, i used to ride sooo!! I run 5200mAh smc lipos,I’m getting 15 to 20 minutes a run on baseball infield. The bike has plenty of power for just 2s lipos. Tough ass bike too, takes a beating and keeps going. Losi did it AGAIN!!!!!! Jon Porkka Verified Owner Thursday, Sep 12 2024 (about a year ago) Losi Promoto-MX RTR 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike (FXR) Lots of fun, tires come unglued quickly like all RTRs do. Stock graphics are paper thin. Broke the side left “motor” cover where the training wheel thing screws on the first day…. it’s voltage cut off is set top low from the factory so reset it or don’t run down your packs too low. Cannot run it on 100% throttle or the Amp draw is too much for the recommend 5000mah pack and it will puff the batt so 75% is where ours stays at. Radio feels very cheap and even sounds cheap when you turn it on. Limited Radio options available… other than that lol Troy Simmons Verified Owner Thursday, Jul 4 2024 (about a year ago) Losi Promoto-MX RTR 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike (FXR) Great bike! Awesome to drive and it handles good.
The only issue I had was the stickers where not put on very well . It’s now my favorite R/C Bill Trollope Verified Owner Tuesday, Apr 23 2024 (about a year ago) Losi Promoto-MX RTR 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike (FXR) Extremely well made. Very realistic I like it. I may buy the green and blue one. Would recommend this. Joe Harkcom Verified Owner Saturday, Mar 16 2024 (about a year ago) Losi Promoto-MX RTR 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike (FXR) i started running rc’s at 10yrs of age…ran alot of different models…waited for a dirt bike like this…there have been others..but this one is the real deal…the technology and engineering in the losi promoto is in credible..well worth the wait..very happy with this rc motorcycle!!…? Saint Lukas Verified Owner Sunday, Mar 3 2024 (about a year ago) Losi Promoto-MX RTR 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike (FXR) I’ve been tinkering with nitro buggies and riding dirtbikes since I was a child ( 15+ years now). I feel as though I can confidently say this is as close as it gets to driving a dirtbike without being on the real thing. The way it rips through the corners steady with the suspension soaking all of the bumps up is so satisfying to watch. Overall driving experience could not be better for me. It jumps very well and is extremely stable. Keep in mind that this is going to run best on smooth-ish surfaces. Large rocks and debris are not what this was made for, same for an actual dirtbike.
The realism of this bike absolutely blew me away. Had me laughing and smiling like a little kid. If you’re thinking about getting one or if you ride dirtbikes and you think this is cool just do it. It’s worth every penny.
The only issue I had from factory was the front brake. It was slightly tight and causing the pads to drag on the rotor. Take it out, clean it and apply a dry lubricant and it’s as good as new. I would recommend buying a replacement chain with the bike or buying a few feet of 04B chain with a master link. The stock chain does not have a master link and it stretched passed the maximum adjustment pretty quickly for me, even with extensive cleaning and lubing after each run. It only lasted about 10 battery packs.
Just buy this thing. It’s the coolest RC product I have ever used and I feel that there is so much to learn with this. Charlie Draeger Verified Owner Sunday, Jan 14 2024 (about a year ago) Losi Promoto-MX RTR 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike (FXR) The Losi Promoto-MX is a cool bike, But mine would goes Full throttle after start up and steering would not center! I determined the radio was bad from the start! So I reached out to your Tech Support, He said he never heard of this before and did not have a radio for a warranty so I reached out Horizon Tech Support Joe he shipped me a radio which I received yesterday and did the bind and it took right away! All is good now.
