The Kyosho RC Surfer 4 Electric Surfboard with KT-231P 2.4GHz Transmitter is the fourth release of the RC Surfer, built with the same innovative form and function of the previous models, with a few improvements to help it master the waters. A reinforced stainless shafted rudder and improved surfer figure add extra reliability when maneuvering through choppy waters and catching waves. While the natural habitat of the RC Surfer is the sea, its dynamic response also functions well on the flat waters of lakes, rivers and even pools. It’s built of anti corrosive materials, which means you can focus on surfing the RC Surfer in any type of water without worrying about potential damage.
This surfer was designed to please and be appreciated by real wave riders, not just RC fans. Buoyant material inside the surfboard structure and hollow surfer figure with flotation function keeps the board in an upright position and allows it ride waves easily. The kit combines this easy flotation with the auto-recovery mechanism to make the RC Surfer practically unsinkable. I ordered the lipo battery and followed the instructions to set it to LIPO mode. That was very easy.It worked right out of the box. Seems pretty good after testing in the lake. It worked in my backyard pool, but the first time I took it to the ocean on a small day, it completely failed. It leaks badly, has no power, and doesn’t even run properly right out of the box. I’ve run 4 batteries in the Atlantic surf and it was a blast.
My only 2 notes would be:
– must run a soft case 2S lipo to enjoy properly (imo).
– the surfer guy is extremely hard to install initially onto the board hatch. Has held up no problem. Being around saltwater and sand, maintenance is a must. Greasing the props. Rinsing with clean water around the inside. I have replaced 2 ECS’s. They tend to get wet. Easy fix. Ive replaced motors, Servo’s and props. I’ve posted on YouTube (Fishyboy) how to fix, replace, upgrade and maintain these. Will be posting more as well. Cowabunga….
