Tamiya Subaru Brat 1/10 Off-Road 2WD Pick-Up Truck Kit. The Subaru Brat was made solely for export, and achieved tremendous popularity in the U.S. market in the 1970s. Tamiya first produced an R/C version of this popular little truck back in 1983 and is now proud to present an updated, improved re-release of this classic R/C truck. Aside from the upgraded internal parts, this assembly kit comes with a driver figure for a nostalgic feel. In addition, both a super-detailed resin body for shelf display and a lightweight durable polycarbonate body for racing are included.

The unique space frame chassis features a 4-wheel independent suspension system with front double wishbones and rear trailing arms. The rear suspension in particular has been updated with the diaphragm type oil dampers and coil springs. A 540-type motor drives the differential-equipped gearbox, and the drive shaft features a dog bone joint for optimum transmission efficiency. Block pattern tires mounted on the realistic 8-spoke wheels round out this stylish package.

Robert Popham Verified Owner Tuesday, Apr 15 2025 (5 months ago) Tamiya Subaru Brat 1/10 Off-Road 2WD Pick-Up Truck Kit The kit was a breeze. I set it up for high speed. Still working on the hard body but the clear body with the stickers is stunning. All of my tracks out here are sandy dirt. Great when damp but when dry the Brat would bog down and get stuck with one tire spinning. The differential was too free wheeling for dirt. After much thought I decided to add a #2.5 washer to each end of all 3 small bevel gears MD11. It took pressure to install them back into the differential spur gear but it also turned the dif. into limited slip. WOW. I added better rear tires (PRO119411), nearly the same size but better tread, painted them to match and I think this car is my favorite to drive. Fast enough, punchy, burn-outs anytime, and easy to 180. I have spent over $500 for cars that perform as well as this Brat I have under $300 into. The suspension is stiff but good for what I do and if you do the same tires you will need 6MM spacers to make everything fit properly. I used a 5200 lipo battery.
