About the TLR Tuned LMT

Suspension

TLR Tuned starts with a complete rework of the original suspension design. TLR 12mm shocks are found on each corner of the vehicle boasting threaded shock bodies with precision shock springs. A lower stance was given to this LMT to ensure a lower Center of Gravity (CG). The TLR Tuned LMT is the best start to high-performance racing monster trucks.

Chassis

Carbon fiber and aluminum come together to give the perfect balance of rigidity, and durability in a lightweight package. Aluminum front spindles, front carriers, rear toe blocks, 4-links, and cross bars reduce play and increase strength where you need it most. Carbon fiber chassis plates aim to reduce the flex across the whole chassis.

Drivetrain

This Tuned LMT uses the same transmission and drive train as the standard LMT. The transmission of the LMT features an easy-access center transmission comes stock with a center differential and allows for quick changes with the optional spool for that wheel-standing action. Durable splined driveshafts allow for reliable power transfer on 2S and 3S LiPo power.

Bolts are easily stripped and I encountered other quality issues, such as a stripped/defective shock collar and the steering arm doesn’t align properly. The details: Got this from my LHS and paired it with a Castle Mamba X ESC and 1515 2200kv motor. Absolutely rips. It handles like a dream, but…….
The axles. They are still the cheap plastic BS that breaks. The Treal axles, servo mount, servo saver, steering rack, drive shafts, center gear housing, transmission cover and 15 mm offset-17mm hex all make the truck bottom heavy and beefy. The treal torsion bar end links fit on the truck, but only with the TLR bar (the included treal bar is too long).
I must say, the weight on the bottom significantly improves the handleing of the truck, and backflips off the wall are done effortlessly. It is crazy to see the truck do over sixty mph and then pick it up to realize it weighs about 15 lbs. No on-power steering, but the off power steering is insanely responsive with the stock diff set up.
BUT…..the kit had missing shock seal o-rings, and the rebuild kit was on indeterminate backorder.
