Description

Avid RC AE 13mm 2.5mm Thick Shock Piston. These are an optional performance piston intended for the Team Associated 13mm shocks. They offer a conventional setup but with a perfectly machined round piston and square 90° edges for a tight-fitting piston. This helps reduce blow-by creating more pack on jumps. The AE piston has a slightly rounded outer edge and the holes are chamfered which results in harder landings.

Features:

• Fits 13mm shocks from Team Associated (13mm bore, 2.5mm shaft hole, 2.5mm thick).
• Machined perfectly round with square 90° edges for a tighter fit to the bore of the shock body for less blow-by creating more pack on jumps.
• This 2.5mm thickness allows the shock to pack more on big landings but at the cost of fast bump handling, for that use 2.0mm thick pistons (AVD10106).
• Has a single dimple if you want to add a small 1.0mm bleeder hole to give the car more bite on slow corners.

Alex Rizi Verified Owner Monday, Mar 25 2024 (about a year ago) Avid RC AE 13mm Shock Piston (2) (2.5mm Thick) (2×1.8mm) Love the Avid Pistons , I was building myself a new set of Shocks for my wheeler (ASC91986) and choose the Avid Pistons
to build them with 1.8 for the fronts and 1.9 for the rear . AND WOW these thing are amazing , When you see the description of the item your are saying in your head this a load of Bull (This helps reduce blow-by creating more pack on jumps) I can attend it’s not.
One of my fellow racers copied my setup but used original AE pistons with the same oil and springs set Front and rear and My car
had way more pack than his car. My 7.2D jumped and landed like a dream. I am still amazed how well the car handled.
